The Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Medefer have won an award for Best Elective Care Recovery Initiative at this year’s HSJ Partnership Awards.
The Trust and Medefer — a patient focused virtual health service — found out they had been shortlisted earlier this year for their elective recovery programme.
This saw them clinically assessing and mitigating risk for outpatient backlogs — a proactive Covid-19 recovery initiative.
Chief Operating Officer, Joe Smyth said:
“We are delighted to have won this award with our partners, Medefer for our elective recovery programme.
“Together we have worked hard to reduce the waiting times for our patients across our Island community and I am proud of what we have been able to achieve despite the additional challenges of Covid-19."
Chief Executive of Medefer, Bahman Shokouhi added:
“It is a pleasure working with the visionary team. Thank you to Joe Smyth and the team.”
