Isle Of Wight's Award-Winning Natasha Lambert Sets Sail For St Lucia

Multi-award winning Isle of Wight sailor Natasha Lambert has set sail on her latest adventure.

Natasha, who has a British Empire Medal (BEM) to her name, set off from the island of Gran Canaria at around 1pm yesterday (Sunday).

Using her mouth and breath, the disabled adventurer, from Cowes, is en route to St Lucia.

Natasha - otherwise known as 'Miss Isle' - has Athetoid Cerebral Palsy and uses a wheelchair.

Her dad Gary, an engineer, designed the ‘Sip-Puff’ technology, allowing her to use her breath to work the controls of the boat.

Also accompanying Natasha on her 2020 Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC), is her mum Mandy, sister Rachel and a small crew.

The course is 2,700 nautical miles.

Tash’s crew left Cowes from Cowes Yacht Haven in August onboard their Nautitech Open 46, named ‘Blown Away’.

She is hoping to raise money for Cowes RNLI, The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust and the MissIsle School of Sip and Puff.
