An event at The County Showground, hoping to encourage Islanders to support local businesses that have either had to close or kept us afloat during the pandemic, has been cancelled today (Sunday) due to the bad weather.
As previously reported, the site in Newport was expected to be a hype of activity with stalls and local traders selling a range of goods.
The news comes after The Royal Isle of Wight Agricultural Society announced The Royal County Show will not go ahead this year.
In a statement County Show Chairman, Graham Biss said:
“We have watched as other Isle of Wight events have been cancelled and unfortunately we have now followed suit.
"Thank you to everyone who has helped us to make this difficult decision."
Next Sunday there will also be another open-air market.
