The East Wight's popular Ryde-10 Race returned last weekend with 166 runners competing on some of the Island's most scenic roads.
The 10-mile race, held on Sunday June 27, started at 10am from Ryde Rowing Club and ran through Ryde, Puckpool, Seaview, St Helens, Nettlestone, Seaview and back to Ryde.
There were 166 participants from local running groups, as well as from Hedge End Running Club and Fareham.
A total of 33 Ryde Harriers took part in the race with five of the Harriers coming in the top ten. Joseph Wade came in 1st position in an impressive 54:39 minutes and Gary Marshall came in 3rd with a time of 56:42.
Trish Train, Jodie Wilmott and Liz Parkes came 2nd in the Women's Team with a score of 15. There was also a new record for Peter Young who finished in 26th position in 1:15 minutes. Graham Gardner (1:10:56) and Sian Savin (1:30:01) also achieved their personal bests.
