A collection of new animal and wildlife images taken by photographers across the globe has been released as part of the world's largest photo competition.
The 15 snaps were submitted as part of the ‘animal’ category in last year’s CEWE Photo Award, which aimed to celebrate the best in photography across the globe.

The competition was open to everyone — from keen amateur photographers to established professionals.
Entrants were asked to submit photos that celebrated the competition’s ‘Our World is Beautiful’ theme. There were ten categories for budding photographers to enter – from aerial shots and animals to landscapes, travel and culture.
- Wait for me! A penguin looks hopeful to join a group of people to travel on an adventure.
- Peek a boo! A bear is spotted looking through a perfectly shaped hole for its nose and eyes.
- It’s feeding time - a mother lines up her small fluffy chicks to feed them breakfast.
- Frosty afternoon — a young cub takes shelter from the frosty winter snow to have an afternoon nap.
- Oh no! A squirrel looks panicked after dropping its morning snack.
- Motherly affection – a baby giraffe gets some love and affection from its mum.
- Taking shelter – a baby owl finds comfort and shelter under a large leaf.
- The look of love – a baby orangutan looks lovingly at its parent.
- The beauty of a sunset – two lions perch on rocks overlooking the land below them as the sun sets on another day.
- Sliding into the weekend! A polar bear enjoys some afternoon fun sliding down the icebergs into the Beaufort Sea in Canada.
- Bubbles of fun! A bulldog puppy enjoys playing with bubbles on its walk.
- Pretty in pink – a beautifully coloured butterfly lands on flowers creating a very pink scene.
- Under the sea – an octopus resembles a mythical creature in this underwater snap.
- Jumping for joy! A mouse races home with dinner in its mouth.
- On an adventure – a curious hedgehog looks ahead to take in its surroundings.
A photo expert at CEWE UK, said:

In spring this year, the CEWE Photo Award will be returning for a fifth year, where photographers across the globe will once again be able to submit entries across ten categories highlighting the true beauty of the world around us.
