Singer Tom Parker has been posthumously shortlisted for a National Television Award following his death from a brain tumour at the age of 33.

The Wanted star made a documentary, Inside My Head, about living with the illness and organising a fundraising concert in aid of cancer charities in 2021, after being diagnosed with the inoperable growth the previous year.

Parker, who died at a hospice near his home in southeast London on 30 March, is shortlisted for the authored documentary NTA alongside TV presenter Kate Garraway for her programme Caring For Derek, sharing insights into her husband Derek Draper's struggle with the long-term effects of coronavirus.

Katie Price's What Harvey Did Next, Julia Bradbury's Breast Cancer And Me, and Paddy and Christine McGuinness's Our Family And Autism are also in the running for the award.

In other categories, TV favourites Ant and Dec are once again shortlisted for presenter of the year - an award they have won for the last 20 years - up against Alison Hammond, Bradley Walsh and Graham Norton.

After airing its final episode in July after 37 years on screen, Australian soap Neighbours takes on its British rivals Coronation Street, EastEnders and Emmerdale for the best serial drama award.

In the new drama category, LGBTQ+ teen series Heartstopper is shortlisted alongside prison drama Time, crime thriller Trigger Point and medical memoir This Is Going To Hurt.

Heartstopper actors Joe Locke and Kit Connor have both been nominated for the ceremony's rising star award, alongside Bridgerton's Charithra Chandran and Coronation Street's Paddy Bever.

Bridgerton, Call The Midwife, Peaky Blinders and The Split are all in the running for the returning drama category, while Derry Girls, Sex Education, After Life and Not Going Out are up for best comedy show.

Britain's Got Talent, RuPaul's Drag Race UK, Strictly Come Dancing and The Masked Singer are nominated for best talent series.

And the actors hoping to win the award for best drama performance are Bridgerton's Jonathan Bailey, Peaky Blinders' Cillian Murphy, The Split's Nicola Walker and Trigger Point's Vicky McClure.

Comedian and TV presenter Joel Dommett will host the awards, now in their 27th year, at London's OVO Arena Wembley on 15 September 15, with the results to be announced live on ITV.
