A 17-year-old from Newport has been arrested after an incident in Ryde this afternoon (Thursday).
Police made an arrest in Well Street following reports that a man was seen with a knife.
He's been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and making threats to kill.
The teenager remains in custody.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said:
'Following reports of a man seen with a knife, officers conducted enquiries in the Ryde area and made an arrest in Well Street.
'A 17-year-old from Newport was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and making threats to kill. He remains in custody at this time.'
