A prescription collecting machine could be coming to the south of the Island.
Day Lewis Pharmacy on Regent Street, Shanklin, is looking to install a Servi-locker in its existing shopfront window.
The secure dispensing system has been designed to help those who struggle to get to a pharmacy within its opening times, as prescriptions can be picked up at all times of the day.
Prescriptions are loaded into the machine and patients given a unique code to open the locker to retrieve their medication.
Instructions on how to use the locker will also be installed on the window to help patients.
If permission is granted, it could be installed in March, planning documents say.
The pharmacy chain already has a locker installed in its Cowes branch.
You can view the plans, 23/00060/ADV and 23/00059/FUL, on the Isle of Wight Council’s planning register.
Comments can be submitted until March 3.
It has recently been announced Day Lewis will add another shop to its Island portfolio — taking over the Lloyds Pharmacy on Pyle Street, in Newport.
