An additional Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has opened at St Mary's Hospital, Newport.
The Isle of Wight NHS Trust says its purpose will be to offer care to those who have not tested positive for coronavirus.
Isle of Wight Radio's been told the ward will provide "additional capacity should it be needed".
Admissions of patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 remain low, according to the NHS Trust.
Yesterday the case numbers stood at 610, as reported.
