Air Ambulance Called To Bembridge After Woman ‘Falls Off Wall’

A woman has reportedly fallen off a wall and injured her head this evening (Friday), prompting an emergency response to Bembridge.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) have been called to the incident, alongside coastguard teams.

It’s understood a woman, who is thought to be on holiday here, fell off the sea wall near to the Crab and Lobster pub.

She is believed to have hit her head on the steps, prompting the emergency call-out.

HIOWAA landed near to Forelands Field Road at around 8.30pm.

Eyewitnesses say the helicopter then took off again, before again landing on the beach.

It’s believed the woman has been flown to hospital.

A spokesperson for HM Coastguard said:

“At approx. 8pm today (7 May), HM Coastguard’s assistance was requested by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service in an incident on the beach in Bembridge.

“Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team were sent.”
