Appeal For Witnesses Following Collision In Brading

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Brading last night (Wednesday).

Officers were called just after 8.30pm to a collision at the junction of Morton Road and Old Morton Road.

It was reported a black MG had significant damage to the front of the vehicle.

Officers are investigating the exact circumstances of the collision and are keen to hear from anyone who can assist their enquiries.

A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said:

"We want to hear from anyone who saw the MG in the moments leading up to the collision. In particular, we'd like to hear from anyone who may have dash cam footage of the vehicle or CCTV footage that captures the vehicle.

"Anyone with information can call 101, quoting the reference 44230184106. Alternatively, you can provide information by going to our website."

A 26-year-old man from Ryde was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink, attempted theft of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified, and using a vehicle without third party insurance.

He remains in custody at this time.
