Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on the Isle of Wight.
Officers were called to a report that at approximately 8.45pm yesterday (Tuesday) after a silver Honda motorcycle collided with the safety barrier on Medina Way at the junction with Dodnor Lane in Newport.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 19-year-old man from Newport, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. His family have been made aware.
Police are now asking for anyone with information about the collision who has not already spoken of the incident to come forward.

A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said:
