The Isle of Wight Bus & Coach Museum has launched a Flood Appeal fundraiser after torrential rain saw severe damage to the Ryde attraction.
A spokesperson for the museum said:
"Being on a flood plain means that we cannot obtain insurance cover, a dilemma faced by many residential and business properties in the area.
"Thousands of pounds worth of sales stock and electrical items were damaged in the flood — although the water has receded there is still much clearing up to do.
"We plan to seek professional help in improving our flood resilience after the immediate problems have been addressed.
"Any help that you can give in assisting this recovery will be greatly appreciated."
Those wishing to donate and help the museum to survive can do so by visiting the Just Giving page online.
