Last month's Summer Funday at Arreton Barns raised a staggering £1,250 for Island-based charity, The Wight Brainy Bunch.
Families descended upon the sunny Arreton Barns on Sunday July 28 for a wonderful day filled with traditional fairground games, quirky stalls, live music and entertainment.
Donations were collected on the day and a portion of the money taken at stalls went towards the proceeds.
The Wight Brainy Bunch provides life-changing financial assistance to patients undergoing treatment for brain tumours, as well as establishing support networks for the patients and families affected by the disease.
Kathryn Grimes, founder of the charity, said:
“We are so incredibly grateful for all the support we have received from Arreton Barns, whose generous donations will help us to continue supporting families on the Isle of Wight”.
Jane Jolliffe, the organiser of the Summer Funday, said:
“I can’t thank everyone enough who came and made this year’s Funday such a success, and to raise that kind of money for such an essential charity is unbelievable.
“We are thankful for everyone’s generosity, and seeing so many smiles made all the months of planning more than worth it”.
The Wight Brainy Bunch also extended their thanks to Jane and Andrew Gibbs, the owners of Arreton Barns, for their ongoing support and collaboration.
Their efforts in hosting events like the Summer Funday play a crucial role in raising funds and awareness for local charities, while bringing the community closer together.
A portion of the funds raised also went to the Beaulieu House Respite Unit.
