A man from Bembridge has been arrested in connection with a police investigation into the supply of drugs on the Isle of Wight.
As previously reported, Isle of Wight Radio listeners, readers and viewers reported a heavy police presence in an area of Bembridge earlier today (Saturday).
Police searched a property in Willowdene Court at around 8am.
Officers say it is part of an investigation into the supply of Class A drugs on the Island.
A 24-year-old man from Bembridge has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and possession of ammunition without a license, according to Hampshire Constabulary.
Cannabis and ammunition were discovered at the property by police.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said:
'Officers conducted a warrant at an address on Willowdene Court, Bembridge, in relation to an ongoing drugs supply investigation.
'The warrant was executed at around 8am today, 27 February.
'A 24-year-old man from Bembridge has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and possession of ammunition without a license.
'He remains in custody at this time.
'A quantity of cannabis and ammunition have been seized from the address.'
