A warning for black ice has been issued for the Isle of Wight.
Evening showers of sleet and hill snow have created some very wet surfaces, especially in more central, eastern and southern parts of the Island.
The conditions have prompted the Isle of Wight Met Service to issue a yellow weather warning, from 8pm tonight until 1pm tomorrow.
The IW Met Service said:
“As the temperatures continue to fall this evening (Sunday) and overnight we are expecting some very icy conditions on untreated roads and surfaces, especially in rural parts and away from windward coasts.
“Temperatures will fall to freezing across many parts of the island leading to a widespread air frost, with perhaps a few southern and eastern parts falling as low as -3.c.”
