
The Royal Navy Bomb Disposal team was called to the Island yesterday, after a beach walker located some suspected ordnance on a Shanklin beach (Friday).
Members of Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team also attended the incident to provide a cordon and scene safety, after being paged at 3.28pm.
The item was retrieved and disposed of safely.
