Royal Navy Bomb Disposal experts responded to the Island following the discovery of suspected ordnance yesterday (Tuesday).
The team crossed the Solent by ferry following the discovery on King's Manor Farm off Copse Lane in Freshwater.
Isle of Wight Police and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were also called to standby at the incident at around 2:30pm.
The item was assessed and made safe and nobody was hurt.
