Book Day Bus Rolls Into Ryde As Part Of World Book Day Celebrations

A Book Day Bus is rolling into Ryde this weekend, when Monkton Arts puts on a number of events to celebrate World Book Day.

From 10.30am on Saturday (March 5), children are invited to board the bus at the Isle of Wight Bus Museum dressed as their favourite book character and take a memorable photograph in the photo booth.

Storyteller Sue Bailey will also be on the bus from 10.30am-11.30am, bringing stories to life.

Teresa Grimaldi will be there from noon until 1pm, with inspiring storytelling of 'The Slightly Bigger Red Riding Hood'.

A fun and imaginative workshop about inner journeys, with storytelling and heart-warming content for all ages will be run by Lucia Para from 1.30pm-2.30pm.

And Stephanie Britton will tell folk stories to make you think from 2.45pm until 3.45pm.

Entry to these events is free, but to guarantee a place, visitors are advised to book through Monkton Arts.

At 3.45pm, there will be a costume competition, where children will be invited to show off their World Book Day costumes and win a prize.

Other events happening around Ryde include:
