Five people have been arrested after police seized items including cannabis, drugs paraphernalia, a knife and two knuckledusters last week.
At around 6pm on Friday 10 January, police stopped a BMW on New Road in Brading.
A group of five people were in the vehicle, and during searches conducted under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act police seized more than £2,000 in cash, some mobile phones and some cannabis.
Five people were arrested as follows:
• An 18-year-old man arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs. He has been bailed until 10 April.
• Another 18-year-old man arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cannabis. He has been bailed until 10 April.
• A 24-year-old man arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis with intent to supply, and possession of cocaine. He has been bailed until 10 April.
• A 33-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cannabis. She has been bailed until 10 April.
• A 17-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cannabis and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place. He has been bailed until 10 April.
Addresses were searched by police as part of enquiries, during which further items were seized including cannabis, drugs paraphernalia, a knife and two knuckledusters.
