There are lengthy diversions around Brading today (Tuesday) due to emergency gas repair works in Brading.
As previously reported, New Road from its junction with Marshcombe Shute is closed for a distance of 57 metres, while Marshcombe Shute is also shut from its junction with Morton Road.
Morton Road is also closed from its junction with Hornsey Rise - and between Hornsey Rise and New Road.
The essential closures are to enable Southern Gas Networks (SGN) to carry out emergency repairs to a major gas escape.
Diversions are in place via Ashey, Yaverland, St Helens and Bembridge.

An Isle of Wight Council spokesperson said:
"We have been notified by the gas supplier SGN that they are carrying out emergency repairs to the gas main in Yarbridge Cross, between Brading and Sandown.
"This means the junction is closed to all traffic.
"Access will be maintained as far as possible to all properties and businesses in the area.
"Diversions are in place and are signed, but drivers can expect some delays as some of these diversions are lengthy.
"SGN have told us that this is a complex repair and it’s still too early to say how long it will take to complete repairs, restore the road surface and reopen the road.
"We have closed the road until 1 March but if the work is done sooner, it will be opened sooner.
"SGN have a website for updates on all their roadworks: https://www.sgn.co.uk/our-gas-
