East Cowes' popular paddling pool has had to close because of a burst pipe and children turning blue!
East Cowes Town Council has apologised and wants to reassure Islanders that the blue paint is in no way harmful and can be removed using soap and water and an exfoliating glove.
As previously reported on Friday, the pool had only just reopened by the Town Council but has been shut immediately.
The Council has received reports that youngsters were seen riding bicycles in the pool on Friday evening, and CCTV is being checked, as it says, it could have damaged the surface and allowed water to seep under the paint surface.
The cause of the paint lifting is being investigated and the pipe work - so the pool will need to be drained.
It is not known when it will reopen.
A spokesperson for the Town Council said:
'We realise how disappointing this will be to everyone, but we take our responsibilities to the community seriously and will always act in their best interests. We are hopeful that the pool will be open once again in time for the summer holidays.'
