South Western Railway (SWR) are advising customers on the Isle of Wight that the Island Line will be closed from Monday 3 to Friday 7 July.
This is a planned closure to allow Island Line colleagues to complete refresher training in preparation for the reopening of the Ryde Pier rail line on Monday 10 July.
During the closure, two rail replacement bus services per hour will run, in both directions, between Ryde Esplanade and Shanklin. Customers should check their journey on the Plan my Journey page of the SWR website.
A South Western Railway spokesperson said:
“We’re looking forward to seeing trains running on Ryde Pier again, but to do so we must carry out refresher training with our colleagues, meaning we can’t run trains between Monday 3 and Friday 7 July.
“We’re sorry for the inconvenience that this planned closure will cause and would like to thank our customers for their continued patience.”
