There was a lot of buzz around Wightlink's Ryde Pier Head yesterday (Sunday) as a swarm of bees descended on the main entrance.
Visitors to the port found themselves welcomed by a swarm of more than 40,000 insects.
A spokesperson for Wightlink Ferries confirmed:
"About 40,000 of (the bees) were on the hunt for a new home.
"Thankfully, a local beekeeper was on hand to help out and the bees were successfully rehomed in Brading."
It seems it wasn't only holidaymakers reveling in for Ryde's half-term heatwave last week!
