Blackwater's Naturezones has received a grant for £1,250 from the Hampshire Playing Field Fund to extend its already successful Nordic Pole Walking project.
Naturezones is a ten-acre nature reserve which offers regular and varied activities.
Nordic walking is a Finnish-origin total-body version of walking that can be done as a health-promoting physical activity using specially designed walking poles similar to ski poles.
Director Angela Hewitt said:
"For the past year we have been running Nordic Pole Walking for over 50s funded by Awards for All and Sovereign Housing.
"We have so far trained more than 75 people.
"I had no idea how popular Nordic Pole Walking would be when I applied for the first grant and have been amazed by the response."
Naturezones runs regular Instructor led walks every Tuesday and Thursday for those who want to also make it a socialising activity.
This grant from Hampshire Playing Fields will allow us to train up another Instructor and extend the age group of participants to under 50s.
