Campaign To Save Newly-Opened Isle Of Wight Farm Shop

A newly-opened farm shop on the Isle of Wight has warned it is already facing closure.

Fanny's Farm Shop, a family-run business based in Norton Green, only opened at the beginning of the month (July).

However, owners Nicola and Kay said they have run out of funds with 'significant works' still required to meet building regulations.

They claim to have hit many obstacles, including a builder leaving them mid-construction despite “being fully paid”.

They said it "threatens the future" of the store.

"If Fanny’s can survive this latest setback, we plan to continue growing by increasing the amount of other local businesses we stock in the shop and expanding the soft fruit grown on-site", they said.

A fundraising page has been set up to 'save' Fanny's Farm Shop.

It said, initially, the funds would be used for:

• Remedial works on accessibility for wheelchair users

• Interior fireproofing works

• Installation of toilet facilities

• Establishing a power connection, either through solar panels or the grid
