A car has been seized, and the driver found to have no driving licence, after police stopped a vehicle in Newport.

Isle of WIght Police said PC Pragnell and PC Dalton were on patrol overnight, when they stopped in a vehicle in Newport.

Not only was the car missing a wing mirror, it also had no MOT - and the driver did not have a valid driving licence.

The vehicle was seized and the driver reported for various offences.

Sgt Radford said:

"You need an MOT. It is important as it ensures your vehicle is safe for use on the road. You also need a driving licence.

"The vehicle was collected by Stag Lane Motors.

"Stay legal on the road please, if you don’t have the correct documents and your vehicle is defective - and you hurt someone - you will be looking at some serious issues at court and possibly paying compensation out of your own pocket."
