A car has been stolen and a home burgled - while the occupants were inside - in Gurnard tonight (Saturday).
Isle of Wight Radio has been told that a man entered the rear of a property in Albert Road at around 9pm
The man then confronted one of the people inside, before grabbing car keys and leaving the home.
The man then stole the car - a Fiat Punto - and reversed along the road.
Speaking exclusively to Isle of Wight Radio, one of the occupants of the home said:
“I saw a figure appear out of nowhere. He just didn’t care, I tried to stop him stealing the bags but he knocked me to the ground.
“The next thing I knew, he was in the car and was making his way down the road in reverse.”
Police have descended on the area and it’s understood the car has been found, near The Range, on Place Road.
The man is described as around 6ft tall, white, medium build and wearing dark clothing.
Isle of Wight Radio has been told a man has been arrested.
