A man has been charged with being drunk and disorderly after an incident in Newport last night (Tuesday).
Hampshire Constabulary was called at 6.10pm to St James Square following reports of a public order incident.
Police say a man was arrested at the scene.
31-year-old Samuel Christopher Dunkling, from Carisbrooke, has been charged with being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
He will appear in court on 25 May.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said:
'We were called at 6.10pm last night (11 May) with reports of a public order incident in St James Square, Newport.
'Officers attended and arrested a man at the scene.
'Following enquiries, Samuel Christopher Dunkling, aged 31 years, of Nodgham Lane in Carisbrooke was charged with being drunk and disorderly in a public place.'
