Registration is now open for Walk the Wight 2025, as Mountbatten Isle of Wight’s much-loved fundraising event prepares to celebrate its 35th anniversary on Sunday, 11 May.
This year’s walk promises to be a special celebration of three and a half decades of community spirit, fundraising and life-changing impact.
Since its humble beginnings in 1990, Walk the Wight has grown into one of the Island’s most beloved events, uniting thousands of Islanders and visitors in support of Mountbatten’s vital work.
Why take part?
Mountbatten Isle of Wight provides 24/7 care and support to over 2,300 people every single day, including those dealing with death and dying, those living with life-limiting illnesses and families coping with loss.
With demand for services expected to grow by 40% in the next 18 months, your participation and the money raised through fundraising is more important than ever.
How to register
Registration is quick and easy at mountbatten.org.uk/walkthewight2025 and costs £10 per person.
Entrants will receive:
- Entry to your chosen walking route
- An event pack, walker number, sponsorship forms and progress card
- A commemorative medal at the finish line
You can also purchase an official 35th Anniversary Walk the Wight T-shirt (£8), a reusable water bottle (£12) or even a dog bandana (£5), to include your furry friend in the fun.

Be a top fundraiser
While your £10 entry fee helps cover the cost of the event, it is your fundraising that truly changes lives.
Organisers are asking people to aim for a sponsorship target of £200.
Walkers who raise £500 or more by April 12 will receive a special keepsake and an exclusive invitation to a VIP 35th anniversary reception.
