Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng has been sacked by Government after just 38 days in the role.
Publishing a letter he has written to Prime Minister Liz Truss on Twitter, Mr Kwarteng said it had been "an honour" to serve as her first chancellor.
He continued: "Your success is this country's success and I wish you well."
