Charlotte, 10, Takes On Triathlon With A Twist For Isle Of Wight Cats

A ten-year-old girl from the Isle of Wight has strutted her stuff to raise money for felines in need.

Sunday (June 4) saw Charlotte White, 10, from Ryde set off from Lake on a 16-mile journey incorporating rollerblading, cycling and running on behalf of Isle of Wight Cats Protection.

She completed her version of a sprint triathlon on Sunday afternoon after travelling through Sandown, Newport, Whippingham and finally finishing at Wootton Bridge three hours after she set off.

Not only did Charlotte want to try the challenge out, but she hoped to raise funds for the Isle of Wight branch of the Cats Protection where her family pets came from.

Charlotte said:

"I really enjoyed trying out all the different bits of the triathlon, my favourite part was cycling through where they are setting up for the Isle of Wight festival and along the river.

"By the end of it though I was starting to feel really tired and just wanted the ice cream I was promised!"

Charlotte has managed to raise more than £300 for the cats, but if anyone else would like to support her they can by donating through her JustGiving page.
