Ventnor Coastguard was called out to the outskirts of Sandown yesterday (Wednesday) following reports of a person stuck in mud-like sand.
The rescue team received a call at around 3pm to Yaverland Beach.
A spokesperson for HM Coastguard confirmed:
"The casualty was extracted by two Coastguard Rescue Officers using Shovels shortly after we arrived on scene."
