Cold Weather Warning Issued For The Isle Of Wight - But Will There Be Snow?

Temperatures are expected to plummet across the Isle of Wight tomorrow (Saturday) for the next few days, with ice - and even snow - expected.

Much of the north-east, east and south-east of England is expected to see snow over the next few days.

A Met Office Yellow Weather Warning for snow and ice just misses the Island from midday tomorrow.

But, a new weather warning from the Met Office INCLUDES northern parts of the Island between midnight Sunday and 12pm on Wednesday.

The Isle of Wight Met Service believes there could be a dusting in some parts of the Island, with temperatures expected to drop as low as -3.c.

Weather expert, Jamie Russell, said:

"Cold weather is expected to develop during the early hours of Sunday morning and is likely to continue through until Wednesday or possibly even Thursday.

"Night time temperatures will drop to a low of -3’c in places with daytime temperatures maxing out at around 2’c leading to a mean temperature of below freezing throughout the period.

"Occasional flurries of snow will also be likely at times, especially on Sunday and again from Tuesday.

"A dusting or a light covering is possible in places but we are very uncertain about snowfall amounts at this point and we will know more over the next day or two."
