Coronavirus: Mask Wearing In Force At Christ The King College

Students at Christ the King College are being asked to wear masks due to 'increasing numbers' of coronavirus cases, the school has confirmed.

A letter sent to parents says pupils who are exempt will not have to wear them, however.

Mask wearing will be in force at the school, throughout the day, for the next two weeks.

Headteacher, Mr Kevin McDermott, says it's part of the school's efforts to reduce transmission.

He said:

"This week we have seen increasing numbers of COVID cases reported to us at the College. We are following the advice of Public Health England. Next week we will introduce two new control measures.

"All assemblies will be virtual and we will reintroduce masks as of Monday (27) throughout the school day for two weeks.

"Those who are exempt will follow the same procedures as previously. I know that most of you are conducting LFT tests at home, and can I remind you that LFT tests should be completed twice weekly."

The school says it is hoping its Vaccination Team will offer both the Flu and Covid vaccinations from October 5.
