According to official figures released today (Wednesday), the number of positive tests registered on the Island is now 6,812 -  since the start of the pandemic.

Yesterday (Tuesday), as previously reported by Isle of Wight Radio,  two new cases were registered.

Nationally, there have been another 27 coronavirus-related deaths in the UK within the last 24 hours. There are often rises in the days following a bank holiday weekend, because of delays in recording figures.

The number of people who've tested positive was 2,144.

More than 34.7 million people have now received their first dose, while 15.8 million are now fully vaccinated.
