The troubled floating bridge has resumed to service this morning (Friday).
The Isle of Wight Council says that necessary repairs to the vessel's hydraulic ram have now been completed.
The Cowes to East Cowes service returned to action at 5am.
It is not the first time the chain ferry has been out out service this year. In the summer, it was off for over three months for repairs.
It returned in mid-October, but in the space of two weeks, it had broken down twice.
It was again suspended last Friday (27), as Isle of Wight Radio previously reported.
