Two fishermen who desperately tied their boat to a Solent buoy after it suffered engine trouble and electricity failure last (Tuesday) night were eventually taken to safety by Cowes RNLI lifeboat.
The men had first communicated their predicament to Solent Coastguards while tied to West Ryde Middle Buoy.
Having launched at 7.54 pm, lifeboat subsequently proceeded to tow it to a mooring in the River Hamble.
Finally, at 10.20 pm, the lifeboat returned to its station.
