A Cowes theatre will come alive to the thrilling sounds of a brass band to boost its fundraising appeal for a new roof.
Abbey Brass – comprising 25 experienced musicians - will perform a wide selection of rousing music at Trinity Theatre on Saturday July 8.
The concert is free entry but a retiring collection will be taken to help fund much-need repairs to the building’s roof.
Dinah Bowman, secretary of Cowes Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society which owns the theatre, said:
“We are delighted that Abbey Brass are supporting our roof appeal with their first-ever concert at Trinity Theatre.
"I am very much looking forward to the auditorium coming alive to the wonderful sounds of a brass band.”
Band chairman Andy Croucher added:
“Abbey Brass is the Island’s newest brass band, formed in 2021, and we are always looking for different venues to perform in across the Island.
"The band is really looking forward to helping Trinity Theatre’s roof appeal and performing a wide variety of music.
"There should be something for everyone in our 90-minute programme including pop tunes and popular music from films, musicals and the classical repertoire.”
The concert starts at 7.30pm. The theatre is located off Bath Road near The Parade.
