An Isle of Wight councillor accused of historic child sex offences has had his case sent to crown court.
46-year-old Daryll Pitcher, of Norman Way in Wootton, appeared at Isle of Wight Magistrates this morning (Tuesday).
He has been charged with two counts of raping a girl under the age of 16. He also faces an accusation of indecent assault.
It's alleged the historic offences happened when Cllr Pitcher was a child himself.
The case was sent to the Isle of Wight Crown Court.
It will be heard on August 28.
He has been granted conditional bail until that date.
