Dead Porpoise Found At Gurnard Seafront

A porpoise has been found dead after washing up on Gurnard seafront.

Needles Coastguard says it was called to reports of two dead dolphins at around 8.04am this morning (Monday).

Only one was found to have a been a porpoise.

A spokesperson for Needles Coastguard said:

"Once on scene details of the recently passed female Harbour Porpoise were gathered and along with photographs forwarded on to the National History Museum.

"The Council has been contacted to arrange for removal of the deceased mammal.

"The other reported porpoise transpired to be a dogfish.

"Back on station by 10:20am."
