A dedicated dance studio has opened its doors on Newport Business Park today (Saturday), following the growth of a local dance school.

The Starlight Academy will welcome dancers and gymnasts across the Island, for around 50 classes each week.

The academy, previously known as The Starlight Boutique, has been teaching youngsters on the Island for ten years.

The building is complete with two dance halls, including a ballet studio on the first floor, reception area and stylish common room.

The unit at Barry Way, Newport Business Park is located just off the cycle track, so owners have installed a bike rack, for those wishing to arrive by bike. A number of parking spaces are also available.

Starlight Academy owner, Mary Bowdery said:

"I wanted to create a safe space for our students, a hub where dancers and gymnasts can learn and advance. We want to be able to help those students who want a future in this industry achieve their goals."

The business specialises in dance for all ages and abilities, and teaches more than 300 children and adults every week.
