A dog that was feared trapped down a rabbit warren on the Isle of Wight - with its owners pleading with Islanders for help - has now returned home, covered in sand.
Rosie, a female Jack Russell terrier, went missing in the Rookley area yesterday (Thursday).
The owners shared pictures of Rosie on social media in the hope she may have been spotted.
They said it’s feared that Rosie had entered a rabbit warren and since she returned home covered in sand, it's still assumed that that's what happened.
He made a plea to islanders yesterday saying:
“Does anyone know anybody that has anything to look for a dog that is possibly trapped down a rabbit warren? Just messaged fire service so now awaiting a reply.
“Someone has already attempted a drainage camera but struggled to get round the muddy bends.”
