Concerns that a dog was trapped in a hot car in Yarmouth led to police smashing the vehicle’s window.
Hampshire Constabulary says it was called to Quay Street at 2.45pm yesterday (Saturday).
Following concerns about the temperature of the vehicle and the length of time the animal had been in the car, officers took the decision to free the animal.
The window of the vehicle was smashed.
Police say the owner turned up just a few minutes later.
