Fire crews have been called to two early hours fires today (Friday) with a road closed as a result.
Firefighters remain on scene in Brading which saw homeowners evacuated from the property with no reported injuries.
The house, based on New Road, saw reports received by emergency services at around 2.50am.
Firefighters from Newport, Cowes, Ryde, Shanklin, Freshwater, Botley, Cowes, East Cowes, Ventnor, Sandown, Droxford, Hayling Island, Emsworth, Havant, Southsea, Cosham and St Mary’s dealt with the barn fire into the early hours this morning.
Bowcombe Road was closed in both directions while crews dealt with the incident.
The barn of traditional construction measured approximately 56M x 25M and was 90% destroyed by fire with the roof collapsing.
Ten breathing apparatus, three main jets, three hose reel jets, and one hydrant were used to tackle the blaze.
The stop message came in at 04:44 with some crews remaining to damp down.
The main Ryde to Sandown road remains closed in both directions as a result, with a police cordon in place at both ends.
It is the second such incident on the Island during nightfall, with an earlier fire reported following a barn fire in Bowcombe.
That blaze, on the outskirts of Newport at around 12.45am, saw no less than half a dozen fire engines sent to the scene.
The fire service confirmed the blaze was out shortly before 6am, allowing the crews to stand down.
