
A man from East Cowes has been arrested after a two-car collision in Newport last night (Thursday).
Police were called to the junction of Horsebridge Hill in Newport just after 8.30pm.
A blue BMW and a red Fiat were involved in the incident.
The driver of the BMW suffered a suspected broken leg and was taken to St Mary's Hospital.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said:
''We were called out at 8.34pm yesterday evening (9 Sept) following a two-vehicle collision at the junction of the A3020 and Horsebridge Hill in Newport.
''A blue BMW and a red Fiat were involved in a collision; with the driver of the BMW suffering a suspected broken leg and was taken to hospital as a result.
''A 32-year-old man from East Cowes was arrested at the scene.''
Road closures were put in place at the time, but were lifted a short while later.
