Election Day: Polling Booths Open Across The Isle Of Wight

Polling booths are opening across the Isle of Wight and the country this morning (Thursday).

Stations will open from 7am until 10pm.

Seats on the Isle of Wight Council and town and parish councils are up for grabs.

Islanders will also be able to vote for their preferred police and crime commissioner.

After today's voting, counting for Isle of Wight Council votes will begin tomorrow (Friday).

Who is standing in your Isle of Wight Council ward?

Town and parish seats will be revealed on Saturday (8). Due to a number of uncontested seats, only 18 areas across the Island will have to vote for the smaller authorities.

A full list of candidates can be found here.

If Islanders cannot attend in person, and have not already voted via post, then they can appoint an emergency proxy to vote on their behalf.

Islanders should not visit polling stations if they have any symptoms of coronavirus, or have recently tested positive for the illness.

Emergency proxy votes can be issued up to 5pm by emailing [email protected] or calling (01983) 823380.
