Freshwater and Newport fire crews attended an electrical transformer fire near Freshwater Bay yesterday (Thursday).
It's thought the fire was started by adverse weather.
Crews set up a fan spray to protect nearby domestic property and safety jets to protect land.
Firefighters worked in 'defensive mode' due to electrocution risk, until the power had been isolated.
