Lifeboat, coastguard and ambulance teams responded to reports of a person in the water, near East Cowes last night (Thursday).
As the Cowes RNLI team finished yesterday's training exercise, the lifeboat was immediately relaunched along with Bembirdge and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Teams.
It was reported a woman was in the River Medina, near to The Folly Inn pub.
The person was safely recovered and left in the care of the ambulance service.
