
Emergency services, including the Air Ambulance, have been called to Sandown this afternoon (Wednesday).
The call-out is a result of a person suffering a medical episode in Melville Street.
The helicopter left its base at Thruxton Airfield, near Andover, at around 1.50pm, while police were also called to the scene a short time later.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary confirmed:
"We were called at 2pm by the ambulance service following a medical episode in Melville Street.
"Officers attended to secure the scene and left by 2.30pm."
UPDATE 5pm:
A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight NHS Trust said:
"We sent two crews to an address and a person was taken to St Mary’s Hospital."
